Honourable Kabiru Amadu Maipalace, member of the National House of Assembly representing Gusau and Tsafe federal constituency, has made a significant donation to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Gusau. 

The donation includes essential furniture for the new psychiatric department, comprising 22 beds with mattresses, 14 office tables, 28 office chairs, 5 air-conditioning units, and 5 three-seater chairs for patients.

Receiving the donation, Acting Medical Director Dr. Umar Abdullah (FMCP) expressed heartfelt gratitude to Honourable Kabiru Amadu Maipalace. Dr. Abdullahi highlighted the significance of the donation, as FMC Gusau is the only hospital in Zamfara State providing psychiatric treatment.

The acting Medical Director of the Centre maintained that the donated furniture will greatly enhance the hospital's ability to provide quality care in the psychiatric department. 

He noted that 90 percent of patients at FMC Gusau are from Gusau and Tsafe, he emphasized the need for improved healthcare facilities in the area. 

In his remarks, Honourable Kabiru Amadu Maipalace reiterated his commitment to supporting healthcare development in his constituency, particularly in mental health.

The ceremony was attended by hospital officials, including Alhaji Ahmed T. Turaki, Head of Finance and Accounts; Alhaji Garba Kanwa, Head of Nursing Services; and Alh. Garba Labbo, Head of Internal Audit.

Honourable Kabiru Amadu Maipalace was accompanied by his Personal Secretary, Alh. Mustapha Hassan Musa, and Personal Assistant, Abdulhamid Yaron Malam. 

The donation is expected to significantly impact the quality of care provided by FMC Gusau, particularly in the new psychiatric department.
