Garba Muhammad Kanwa is a distinguished nursing professional with over three decades of experience. Born on March 16, 1966, in Kanwa, Zurmi LGA, Garba's passion for healthcare drove him to pursue excellence in nursing education and practice. Educationally, Garba holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing Sciences. He also acquired a Diploma in Computer Science, High Diploma in Public Administration, Professional Diploma in Education and a Mental Health Nurse Certificate.

Professionally, Garba has held esteemed positions, including Head of Department, Nursing Services, Deputy Head of Nursing Administration, Deputy Head of Quality Improvement Unit and a Ward Manager. His leadership and expertise have earned him numerous awards, including the 2015 Merit Award, Award of Honour (LOLL), Award of Excellence and Exemplary Leadership, and Award of Excellence from NANNM North West zone. He was also conferred the traditional title of Garkuwan Kanwa of Zurmi Emirate, Zamfara State in 2023.

As a dedicated member of the National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM), Garba has served in various leadership capacities, including National Vice President, Zonal Chairman, State Chairman, and Public Relations Officer. His dedication to the profession has inspired future generations of healthcare professionals.

In his leisure time, Garba enjoys reading, traveling, and mentoring. His extensive travel experience spans across Nigeria's 36 states, FCT Abuja, and international destinations, including Saudi Arabia, Ghana, Benin Republic, Australia, Republic of Togo, Switzerland, Niger Republic, United Arab Emirates (Dubai), Qatar (Doha) Ethiopia (Adis Ababa), France and Rwanda (Kigali).
