Aliyu Garba Bungudu is an experienced accounting and financial management professional with over three decades of progressive service in the public sector, particularly within the healthcare system. Born on 25th December 1972 in Bungudu, Zamfara State, he has built a distinguished career marked by dedication, integrity, and strong administrative competence.

He holds a Postgraduate Professional Diploma in Accounting from the Nigerian College of Accountancy and is a certified member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN). His academic foundation also includes a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, a National Diploma in Business Administration and Management, and multiple certifications in accounting and auditing from Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara.

Mr. Bungudu began his career in 1994 as a Clerical Officer (Accounts) at Specialist Hospital Sokoto, where he demonstrated diligence and professionalism, earning promotions to Senior Clerical Officer. In 1998, he transferred to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Gusau, where he continued to rise through the ranks due to his commitment and expertise in financial administration.

In addition to his core accounting roles, he has contributed significantly to public administration, serving as Local Government Council Secretary in both Gummi (2017–2018) and Bungudu (2018–2019) Local Government Areas. His leadership and administrative capabilities were further recognized with his appointment as Chief Accountant at FMC Gusau in 2021.

In January 2025, he was appointed Acting Head of the Internal Audit Department, and by December 2025, he was confirmed as the substantive Head of Internal Audit at Federal Medical Centre Gusau. In this role, he oversees financial compliance, internal controls, and audit processes, ensuring transparency and accountability in the institution’s financial operations.

He is also an Associate member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Nigeria (CPA) and a full member of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), reflecting his commitment to professional excellence and continuous development.
